The Tourism Studies Program of the Economics Department of the University of Colombo will organize a dialogue of leading international experts with stakeholders this week to share ideas for reviving the tourism industry in the midst of multiple challenges.
The webinar titled “Rethinking for Sustainable Tourism: Priorities, Actions and Global Best Practices” will be broadcast via Zoom on September 28 at 6:30 p.m., to mark this year’s UNWTO World Tourism Day.
Dr Mariyam Shakeela, former Maldivian cabinet minister and CEO of SIMDI Group, His Highness Sheikh Ahamed Bin Saisal Al Qassimi’s private office in Dubai, COO Dunston Periera, and Founding Chairwoman of Women in Management International, Dr Sulochana Segera, are the main speakers in the discussion. The session will be moderated by hospitality professional Gayathri Randeni.
The 2022 World Tourism Day theme “Rethinking Tourism” revolves around opportunities to rethink how the world might engage in tourism by putting people and planet first.
